In our Kindergarten program, the children expand their knowledge for the purpose of preparing for pre-first and first grade. Each child works according to his own ability and readiness level. Academic focus is placed on language development, reading skills (visual and auditory discrimination, linguistics, phonics, sight words, trade book reading), math readiness, science, social studies, and writing. Through formal and informal experiences, the children develop skills necessary for future school success. This program is state accredited.
The Kindergarten program is for five year old children who will be five years of age on or before September 1 of the year in which they enter. Each class is staffed with a teacher and assistant teacher (when class size mandates). Classes for the Kindergarten program are held daily 8:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
